ISPRP 2015 was held at Mahe Institute of Dental Sciences and Hospital (MINDS), Mahe (U. T. Puducherry) on 7th (Fri), 8th (Sat) and 9th Sun) August 2015.
The Pre-Conference course was inaugurated by Mr. K. P. Ramesh Kumar, Chairman, Mahe Institute of Dental Sciences and Hospital on 7th August 2015. The faculty and the topics for the Pre-conference courses were as follows:
- Hands on demonstration on PosteriorComposites.- Faculty: Dr. Aravind Shenoy
- Porcelain Laminates:When, Where and How?- Faculty: Dr. Moez I. Khakiani
- Hands on demonstration, clinical CBCT cases- Faculty: Dr. Sharad Sahai.
The inaugural meeting was presided by the President of ISPRP Dr. Biju Thomas. Organizing chairman Dr. A. V. Sreekumar welcomed the gathering. Chief guest Prof. Dr. Sridhar Shetty, Former President, Dental Council of India inaugurated the programme. The secretary of ISPRP Dr. Lavanya Varma reported the activities of ISPRP. Organizing Secretary Dr. Anil Melath (Principal, Mahe Institute of Dental Sciences and Hospital, Mahe) delivered vote of thanks.
The Oration lecture was given by Dr. Jorge Gonzalez, Prosthodontist, Director and Assistant Professor, Center for Maxillofacial Prosthodontics, Baylor College of Dentistry, Texas, USA on the topic “Origins of the All on 4 ”.
Dr. Neel Bhatavadekar detailed about “Perio –Restorative partnership. Current Thoughts ”. Dr. Sharad Sahai detailed about “CBCT imaging in Interdisciplinary practice. Current best practices and future trends ”. Dr. Aravind Shenoy gave a lecture on the topic “Building contacts with posterior composites ”.
Dr. V. Kalliyana Krishnan, Scientist G (Senior Grade) and SIC Sree Chitra Tirunal institute for Medical Sciences and Technology enlightened on “Research in Dental Materials- An Indian Perspective ”. Dr. Moez I. Khakiani detailed about “Occlusion: Prostho, Resto, Perio perspective ”.
The Scientific session concluded with a Panel discussion on Immediate Implants Vs Conventional Implants was moderated by Dr. Sanath Shetty and the panelists were Dr. Moez I. Khakiani, Dr. C. V. Pradeep, Dr. Dayakar, Dr. Bennette Fernandez.
The highlight of the National Conference was the response from the Post graduate students with record number of E-Poster and Paper presentations including Clinical, Research and review categories.
