It is indeed a very proud fact for all of us that our journal is being released regularly year after year. A scientific publication is the back bone of any organization which will help to spread the name of the society all over. It is heartening to know that a lot of quality articles are coming in from all parts of the country. The journal of interdisciplinary dentistry has got tremendous scope to develop into a recognized national publication, offering an avenue for the three specialities of Prosthodontics, Conservative dentistry and Periodontics to publish articles of common clinical interest.

We are all part of a legacy of oral health education and clinical service providers, it is up to us to maintain the proud tradition and take steps to improve the quality of oral health care provided. We have to innovate constantly to face the various challenges in our profession. We also have to engage in active dialogue and collaboration with other dental specialties and various national and international associations to increase our presence and standing in the dental field.

I am confident that the active team of members and office bearers will strive hard to make our organization a truly pan India one and provide a platform for young budding specialists to showcase their clinical skills. Looking forward to meeting all of you at our national conference at Mahe in August.
