Wishing you all a very, very happy new year!
Dentistry today is vastly different from what it was in the past. This is an era of super specialization by which clinical skills are fine tuned and professional expertise is enhanced. Multidisciplinary approach to any clinical situation is the need of the hour to provide optimal treatment results. Taking this into consideration, the Indian Society of Prosthodontics - Restorative Periodontics has decided to come out with the Journal of Interdisciplinary Dentistry.
The Journal of Interdisciplinary Dentistry is a journal devoted solely to advance the knowledge and practice of interdisciplinary dentistry. Its goal is to provide the very latest evidence-based information in the realm of contemporary interdisciplinary dentistry through high-quality clinical papers, sound research reports and educational features.
The journal focuses at manuscripts that include the contribution of any of the specialties of dentistry that engages in the restoration of the oral health to optimum function and esthetics.
This is one of the most awaited specialty journals in the country, as it is the first of its kind that aims to amalgamate most of the specialties of dentistry on a single platform. I take this opportunity to thank all the senior faculty, faculty at the international arena, as well as my peers for all the encouragement and the invaluable support in this journey of publishing a journal of international repute. The arduous task of reviewing and selecting the appropriate manuscripts from a huge number of over 150 manuscripts from across the globe for this inaugural issue was made easy to a certain extent by the enthusiastic panel of reviewers and the editorial board. I take this opportunity to thank one and all involved in the successful release of the journal.
The law of nature being to coexist, let us make an honest and sincere attempt to provide the best to our patients by our united efforts.
"An expert is one who knows more and more about less and less".
